After all the controversy in the main fight of UFC Fight Night 22, the Brazilian Rousimar Toquinho apologized for the incidents caused in the confrontation against Nate marquardt, where he accused his opponent of using Vaseline on his legs (remember here), a fact that is prohibited by the organization. In an interview with the North American website MMA Junkie, the Brazilian black belt praised his tormentor and said he was upset by the inconvenience:
“I am very saddened by the accusations I made,” Rousimar said. “Nate Marquardt is not a dirty fighter and I apologize to him and his team for everything that happened”, said the Brazilian who takes the mistake as a learning experience.
“I learned another lesson for my career”, concluded the Brazilian.
Shortly after Rousimar's complaint, the match referee, Herb Dean and members of the Texas Athletic Commission examined Marquardt and found nothing irregular.
