Paul Daley is signed by Strikeforce

Paul Daley will fight in the Strikeforce welterweight division

The Strikeforce organization confirmed this Thursday (16) the signing of the Englishman Paul Daley to join the welterweight category of the event. Daley is a purple belt in jiu-jitsu and was fired from the UFC in May this year for attacking the American Josh Koscheck after the end of the confrontation valid for edition 113 of Ultimate. The athlete has 25 wins, nine losses and one draw in MMA, being a former champion of the Cage Rage welterweight division.

Daley has already fought once in Strikeforce, when he defeated, in June 2007, the American Duane Ludwig by technical knockout (punches) in the second round of the fight. The athlete won his last two MMA fights after being fired from the UFC. In July this year, the Englishman fought at Impact FC 2 and beat Brazilian Daniel Acácio by submission (withdrawal). Last Saturday (11), he defeated the North American Jorge masvidal, also recently signed by Strikeforce, by unanimous decision of the judges at Shark Fights 13.

Strikeforce did not reveal how many fights are included in the contract, but sources close to the event say the agreement is valid for six fights. Its debut is expected in October or November this year.
