'The night will end quickly for Nate', predicts McGregor's trainer

John Kavanagh says that absorbing the North American's blows won't be enough to hold back the Irishman's momentum at UFC 196

The head coach of Conor McGregor, John Kavanagh, believes that his athlete will not take long to destroy Nate diaz and achieve another victory in the UFC on March 5th, in Las Vegas (USA), in the main attraction of UFC 196.

In a column for the Irish website “The42.ie”, Kavanagh praised Diaz's ability to absorb blows, who was only knocked out once in his career. However, the coach believes that this will not be enough to hold back McGregor's momentum, who has already knocked down 17 opponents in MMA.

“The Diaz brothers are known for taking a beating, but Nate doesn't have Nick's ability to absorb punishment. It's different when you face someone who has been fighting on their feet all their life, as opposed to what happens with a wrestler who tries to evolve his game on his feet. I think the night will end quickly for Nate,” commented Kavanagh.

The leader of the SBG Ireland gym detailed McGregor's reaction to the change of opponent and took the opportunity to skewer two other fighters who expressed their desire to face the Irishman. “Conor's response was what was expected: 'It doesn't matter, they're all the same.' What is interesting, however, is that José Aldo e Frankie Edgar refused to fight. I remember when they wanted to face Conor 'any time, any fight'. Obviously, they forgot to mention that March 5th, in Las Vegas, was an exception”, he said.
