Joe lauzon Returns to the Octagon at UFC 123
UFC 123 will take place on November 20th at the Palace of Auburn Hills, in Detroit, USA. Even though it has not yet been made official by the organization, the event is already beginning to have its card drawn up. A fight scheduled for this edition is between lightweights Joe lauzon e George Sotyropoulos. Both fighters are in one of the best moments of their careers, and this confrontation could indicate a future contender for the category's belt, which is currently in the hands of Frankie Edgar.
Lauzon is 26 years old and has eight UFC fights on his record, the last of which was the victory at UFC 118 over Gabe Ruediger via submission (armbar) in the first round. The North American specializes in jiu-jitsu, obtaining 15 of his 19 career victories via submission. In turn, Australian George Sotiropoulos is undefeated in MMA for seven fights, six of which are valid for the UFC. In his last fight, Sotiropoulos defeated Kurt Pellegrino at UFC 116 by unanimous decision of the judges.
The main fight of UFC 123 will be between the Brazilian Lyoto Machida and the North American Quinton “Rampage”Jackson, in a fight between former champions of the organization's light heavyweight category.
