Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao's comments about same-sex marriage continue to generate controversy and this time the person who decided to comment on the episode was the former UFC champion Ronda Rousey. In an interview, Ronda repudiated any type of discrimination against homosexuals and praised the stance of Pope Francis, whom she cited as an example of tolerance.

“I understand that a lot of people use religion as a reason to be against gay people, but there was no ‘Thou shalt not be gay’ (in the Bible). God never said that, and I think the Pope we have now is ‘the guy’. He said the other day that religion should be all-encompassing and that means loving everyone. I think people get the wrong message sometimes”, said the blonde, in an interview with the North American website “TMZ”.

Without fighting since November last year, when she suffered the first defeat of her career after being knocked out by Holly holm and lose the Ultimate women's bantamweight title, Ronda is unlikely to return to the Octagon anytime soon. Despite having recently returned to training at the gym, the former champion declared that filming for her next film in Hollywood had been delayed and warned that this would mean that her next fight would take a while to happen.
