The American, who lost her unbeaten record and UFC belt with a knockout, said she had “suicidal thoughts” after the duel, but that her desire to have children with her boyfriend, fellow UFC fighter Travis Browne, made her have the strength to move forward.

In an interview with the website “TMZ”, Ronda explained why she made such comments. “I have a history of suicide in the family. My father and your father took their lives and the suicide rate is high among teenagers. What I want is to remove the stigma around suicide and encourage people to talk about it, seek help and not feel ashamed. This should be encouraged”, explained the fighter. “I feel like it has had a negative impact, but it is something real, that affects people. It is not a weakness that people should condemn. This has affected my family, so anything I can do to make this affect as few people as possible, I'm happy to do,” she added.

Considered one of today's biggest stars, Ronda was UFC champion between the beginning of 2013 and the end of 2015. After the defeat, the American still has no scheduled date for her return to action.
