One of the biggest fights of 2016 could be under threat, less than two weeks away. Lightweight champion, the Brazilian Rafael dos Anjos, scheduled to face the current featherweight title holder Conor McGregor at UFC 196, he was injured and is at risk of being left out of the fight, scheduled for March 5th in Las Vegas (USA).

The information was released by journalist Fabiana Mello on social media and confirmed by the news program “SporTV News”, on the cable channel of the same name. According to the report, Rafael suffered a broken foot during training for the fight against McGregor and is currently being evaluated. The Ultimate organization is still waiting to officially comment on whether or not the Brazilian will remain in the event.

PUBLICITY:

If Dos Anjos' departure from the card is confirmed, and consequently the cancellation of the title fight against Conor McGregor, the trend is that the duel for the women's bantamweight belt between Holly holm e Miesha Tate, currently the co-main fight of the night, takes over as the event's main attraction.
