Boxer Manny Pacquiao has once again caused controversy with homosexuals. After compare them to animals and losing an important sponsorship contract, the Filipino fighter went further by posting on his Instagram account a controversial excerpt from the Bible that says that gays 'must be executed'.

The message was aired moments after the sports equipment company Nike confirm that he withdrew Pacquiao's sponsorship for disapproving his statements. The Filipino posted a photo next to his wife and, in the caption, cited several passages from the Bible that state that homosexuals commit abominable acts.

“You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; is an abomination”, says the excerpt from Leviticus, 18:22. The Filipino also mentioned another controversial verse from the same book. “If a man lies with another man as one lies with a woman, both have committed a disgusting act. They will have to be executed, with their blood on their heads.” Moments later, Pacquiao deleted the post.

At 37 years old, Pacquiao is one of the most popular athletes in the Philippines. His next fight, in April, against Timothy Bradley, should mark his retirement from the ring.
