Close to officially returning to MMA, B.J. Penn will have to deal with a serious extra-octagon problem. The Hawaiian fighter was accused by a journalist of trying to sexually abuse his girlfriend and of being a long-time drug addict.

Pedro Alex Carrasco worked as a writer on Penn's official website, which is also dedicated to providing general news about the world of fighting. He left the site in October last year, but recently took to social media to explain his reasons. Carrasco made a series of posts on his Twitter account explaining the episodes of disagreement with Penn.

“I'm tired of seeing this pervert B.J. Penn in the news. This guy is a cocaine addict who sexually assaulted my girlfriend, and I have the proof. I worked with that idiot for almost ten years, I was his neighbor. He has had a problem with cocaine since he was a boy. He came into my house when I wasn't there and attacked my girlfriend, ripped off her clothes and then blamed me, saying I looked at his girlfriend's ass. Needless to say, I'm no longer working with him. I know all that idiot's dirtiest secrets. He doesn’t deserve to fight again”, wrote the journalist.

MMA photographer Cynthia Vance supported Carrasco's account and stated that she also witnessed some of Penn's moments of loss of control. “I was on the Big Island [Hawaii’s nickname] when it happened. This sh*t is so f***ed up. Witnessing that broke my heart, especially in Hawaii where BJ is considered a hero,” she wrote.

Penn himself has not yet commented on the matter. Former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion, the Hawaiian announced his return to fighting after a period of retirement and is expected to fight at UFC 197 in April.
