Conor McGregor has proven to be one of the UFC's biggest phenomenons in recent years. The Irishman already had the spotlight on him when he defeated José Aldo and became featherweight champion, and next month, he will attempt an unprecedented feat: beating Rafael dos Anjos, win the lightweight belt and become the only champion in two different categories simultaneously in Ultimate. However, Aldo believes that McGregor's rise already has an end date.

The former champion of the 66 kg category minimized McGregor's desire to also win the welterweight title and predicted that, by the end of 2016, everyone will have forgotten about the fighter.

“Of course he wants to, but I'll say more: I think that by the end of the year he won't have any more belts and they'll forget about him. To date, no one has dominated three belts, that's his goal, but by the end of the year he won't have any. [In the lightweight fight] it will be Rafael, for sure. I don't see him losing. A fight is a fight, you always have to respect the other side, but I see it like this. And by the end of the year I'll have the belt back. This is a fact”, said Aldo, in a press conference reproduced on the website of the “Combate” channel.

McGregor will challenge Dos Anjos in the main fight of UFC 196, on March 5, in Las Vegas (USA).
