Promise of the roosters, Sterling renews with the UFC

The 26-year-old fighter was in a situation of impasse after the end of his contract, but signed a new agreement to remain in the organization

The day was good news for the UFC. After ensuring that the heavy weight remains alistair overeem, the organization also extended the aljamain sterling, a promising bantamweight contender who was experiencing an impasse within the company.

Sterling fought the last fight of his most recent contract in December last year, when he submitted the Brazilian Johnny Eduardo at UFC Fight Night 80, in Las Vegas (USA). However, negotiations regarding a renewal did not prove to be simple, as the North American complained about his salary in the organization.

The renewal announcement was made in an interview with Sterling on the podcast “The MMA Hour”, on the North American website “MMA Fighting”. At 26 years old, the “Funk Master”, as he is known, has an undefeated record, including triumphs over names like Takeya Mizugaki and himself Johnny Eduardo.
