Current UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold was not at all happy to hear the recent statements from Ray Longo, head coach of Chris Weidman, who stated that his pupil had a broken foot in the co-main fight of UFC 194, in December last year.

On that occasion, Weidman suffered his first defeat in professional MMA to Rockhold, also losing the title in the 84 kg Ultimate category. The new champion declared that Longo's justification was a joke, as he himself would be in even worse physical condition. “I think it's a joke. They know my situation. I went into the fight with an infection, taking antibiotics, and I still gave him a beating”, said Rockhold, in an interview with the North American website “Bloody Elbow”.

The two will face each other again later this year, and Rockhold believes his victory will be even more decisive this time. “The rematch with Weidman is already scheduled. I believe it will be at UFC 199, which should take place on June 4th or something like that. I'm anxious. It's like I said: Weidman will go down in two rounds. I'll dispatch him before halfway through the fight. I almost feel bad about the next fight. The deal is going to be ugly,” he said.
