Frank Edgar vs. B.J. Penn, worth the lightweight belt
The city of Boston hosts UFC-28 this Saturday (118), an event that features as its main attraction the fight for the lightweight belt between Frank Edgar and B.J. Penn, reliving the UFC-112 fight, won by Edgar via judges' decision.
Another highlight of the show will be the duel called by the organization “MMA versus Boxing”, where former UFC champion Randy Couture will face James Toney, four-time world boxing champion.
“Everyone is going to love the fight on the 28th. We're going to see James do what he does best, which is punch. I'm not worried about what Randy's going to do. Randy will be Randy and James will be James. I'm having fun and enjoying it. I have been preparing for this transition for nine months. I’m ready, I was born to win”, said James Toney.
“Boxing is a great sport that I have always enjoyed. But UFC 118 will be in the octagon and that's MMA. There are cage tactics, fighting on the ground, in other words, many things will happen that don't happen in a boxing ring. I've faced a lot of strikers, but none like James Toney. He has a unique style and defines his position in a very effective way. But let's see what other martial arts skills he will be able to learn and execute during this fight. UFC-118 still features three Brazilians in action. In the preliminary card, Amilcar Alves will make his debut in the organization against American Mike Pierce. On the main card, the Brazilians Demian Maia and Mario Miranda will compete in the middleweight division.
