Last weekend was also marked by a real exchange of barbs between UFC champions. Fabricio Werdum, owner of the heavyweight title, and Conor McGregor, holder of the featherweight belt, publicly provoked each other, which involved aggressive statements from the Irishman and a sarcastic response from the Brazilian.

The new chapter of the feud began on Friday (6), during the “World MMA Awards”, in Las Vegas (USA). Winner of the “Best Fighter” category, McGregor was not present at the ceremony, but sent a video statement in which he openly attacked Werdum.

“There is another champion who needs to be dethroned. I need to feed all these bums, so I need to keep working, because you bums don't work. We have a heavyweight champion who is a pussy, abandoning a fight because of a bad toe. How does the heavyweight champion come out of a fight with an injured finger? What kind of champion is this? So I'm here working to keep you all fed. Thank me,” said McGregor.

Werdum responded with a montage on his Instagram account: “Please Werdum, take it slow. Take it easy, you're a heavyweight! Wow! Now I love you more than Dana White! Now I know why his nickname is 'Vai Cavalo'”, wrote the Brazilian in the caption.

On March 5th, McGregor will try to win his second UFC title, this time at lightweight. His opponent in the main fight of UFC 196 will be one of Werdum's training partners, Rafael dos Anjos, owner of the 70 kg belt.
