Brasil Fight 2 celebrates the miners

With the Chevrolet Hall stands receiving a good crowd, the city of Belo Horizonte surrendered to MMA. The capital of Minas Gerais hosted the second edition of Brasil Fight on Saturday night (14). The event led by Tatá Duarte featured as its main attraction the challenge between athletes from Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, with the hosts winning 4×3. Cesar Gordim, Thiago Michel, Joaquim Mamute and Erik Wanderley won the victories for the Minas Gerais team, while Rodrigo Ratinho, Igor Chatubinha and Bruno Carioca scored for the athletes from Rio de Janeiro. In the international fight of the night, the Spaniard Miguel Duran put on a show and defeated the Brazilian Gustavo Coelho by the judges' decision.

 

Cesar Gordim opens the scoring for the miners

In the first fight of the night, Cesar Gordim started the fight better against Fabiano Bob Sponja. After losing the first round, the Rio native went all out and looked for the takedown, however, when he tried to attack with a footlock, he ended up sweeping and was punished with punches from the guard until the technical knockout.

Ratinho beats Fação in provocation fight and draws the dispute

The fight between Rodrigo Ratinho from Rio and Mauricio Facção from Minas Gerais was surrounded by a lot of provocation during the promotion of the fight and continued before the duel began. Fação refused to touch gloves before the start of the fight and the atmosphere heated up. But in the first round, the young TFT revelation dealt Mauricio a beautiful knockdown and controlled the actions in the initial rounds. In search of rehabilitation, the home athlete was better in the last round, however, it was not enough to change the result. Final, victory for Ratinho in a unanimous decision. Showing great sportsmanship, Fação lifted Ratinho on his shoulders, recognizing his opponent's triumph.

Thiago Michel knocks out Felipe Olivieri

With very refined kickboxing and excellent takedown defense, Thiago Michel was the highlight of the night. Before Felipe Olivieri – student of Luiz Alves – the Minas Gerais native worked with good combinations in the initial two rounds and secured the triumph in the last round. Taking advantage of Olivieri's wear and tear, Thiago used high kicks to punish his opponent who was unable to defend himself. With a deep cut on Felipe's mouth, as well as passivity in the octagon, the central referee ended the fight, declaring a technical knockout.

Minas opens advantage

Afterwards, Vinicius Draculino's pupils, from Gracie Barra BH, extended the advantage for the home team. Joaquim Mamute submitted Marcelão Oliveira with a north-south choke in the second round, after managing to take him down and dominating the proceedings in the first round. Eric Wanderlei knocked out Eduardo Camaleão in just over four minutes of fighting.

 

Chatubinha reduces Rio's disadvantage

With the challenge at 4×1 for the Minas Gerais team, anyone who thought that the Rio team had become discouraged would be mistaken. Facing black belt Marcelo Uirapuru, Relma Combat athlete Igor Chatubinha was quick on the trigger to reduce the advantage. The Rio native ended the fight with his specialty, the hand triangle in just over a minute of fighting. After the duel, the fighter was graduated by his coach, Róbson Relma, to a brown belt in wrestling.

 

Bruno Carioca beats Titi in a busy fight

In the last fight of the challenge, Bruno Carioca had a great duel against Cristiano Titi. The athlete from Rio started better and soon scored a knockdown, but the fighter from Minas managed to recover, balanced his actions and reached mount at the end of the first round. In the second round the fight was balanced and in the last round, a new knockdown in the final seconds was enough to seal Bruno Carioca's victory in the unanimous decision of the referees.

 

Spaniard puts on a show in international fight.

If for a large part of the public, the Spaniard Miguel Duran was an unknown fighter, after the fight against the Brazilian Gustavo Coelho he showed why he has a series of 11 victories in a row. With efficient boxing and adjusted jiu-jitsu, the 'gringo' managed to avoid the Tupiniquim black belt's ground game and work with strikes at close range and control the actions in the clinch.
