On December 12th last year, Aldo lost the belt in just 13 seconds, with a knockout to the Irishman. It was the Brazilian's first defeat under the umbrella of Zuffa, the company that owns Ultimate and which was the owner of the WEC, the organization in which Aldo became champion, back in the last decade.

Aldo said he was sure he would win the rematch, and now he gave the UFC an ultimatum: he will only compete again if it is for the title or in another fight with McGregor, even if the Irishman is no longer in the position of champion.

"Hey guys. It was quiet until now, because, the way the fight happened, I was already preparing myself in training, as I was sure that I would have an immediate rematch. However, I think I was wrong. So, I wanted to make it very clear to the UFC that I don't accept any fight other than for the belt, because of everything I did in these eight years, because of everything I accepted and because of the way the fight ended. The only exception would be a fight anytime, anywhere. Since he's scared of giving me the belt back, it doesn't have to be for the belt, Conor McGregor. I hope you also keep your word, Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta, because I still believe in the company I work for”, wrote the Brazilian.
