Pitbull hires nutritionist to stay at welterweight

UFC president Dana White has already revealed that he would like to see Thiago “Pitbull” fight at middleweight (remember here), however, the Brazilian stated this Tuesday that he intends to remain in the welterweight division.

“I think that at 84 (kilos), the guys are too big for me,” said Pitbull, in an interview with the American website MMA Junkie. Thiago also made a point of highlighting that it was his choice not to lose half a kilo at the UFC-117 weigh-in (see here), as it would be even more exhausting for him

“Could I have lost a pound? Of course yes, but it would have taken me a long time to recover. That way it was easier to let them take 20% of my purse. I wasn’t happy about it, but it was the smartest decision for me,” she analyzed.

Thinking about staying in the welterweight division, “Pitbull” hired nutritionist Mike Dolce – creator of “The Dolce Diet” and who already works with athletes like Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Michael Bisping.

 

“He will take care of all my nutrition and supplements,” he said. “In eight weeks, he will move into my house and join me at the gym. I’m going to fix the things I need to fix in the gym and in my life”, reflected the Brazilian.
