Since the end of this Monday afternoon (25), when the departure of Fabricio Werdum of the main fight of UFC 196, a race began to try to find a replacement and save the event scheduled for February 6th, in Las Vegas (USA). Without many alternatives and little time to decide, the Ultimate organization has just gained a major option: Jon Jones.

On social media, a fan sent a message to Dana White asking the manager to promote the duel between Jones and Stipe Miocic for the interim heavyweight belt at UFC 196. “Bones”, in turn, responded affirmatively, but made it clear that he has his own conditions. “If it were for the linear belt, I would totally do it,” he guaranteed.

At 28, Jon Jones has a professional record of 21 wins and only one loss, by disqualification. The former light heavyweight champion has not fought since January last year, when he lost Daniel Cormier and made his last title defense. Still in 2015, Jones was stripped of his title after being involved in a traffic accident on the eve of his fight against Anthony Johnson. Since before his time away, “Bones” had already been hinting at the possibility of moving to the heavyweight division.
