“I'm retiring from MMA. I had a great MMA career spanning 12 years, 25 fights, 15 wins and five wins in the UFC, all by interruption, and three with a rear naked choke. I always go there to win by interruption and I'm proud of what I've achieved in my career. I'm 43 years old (I'm young!) and I told myself that I would only retire if I couldn't handle the training routine, didn't want it anymore or lost more than I gained. I'm leaving the UFC with a record of five wins and four losses in the light heavyweight division,” wrote Perosh.

The Australian also revealed what his future plans are. “My next goal is to focus on my two MMA academies with 650 MMA and competitive jiu-jitsu students. I am proud of my students and I can't wait to dedicate my time to them and see them improve and succeed. I hope to be back in the UFC even more than before, but this time walking behind my students who make it to the UFC as their coach and corner,” he commented.

Anthony Perosh ends his career with a professional record of 15 wins and ten losses. Perosh's last victory was achieved in November 2014, when he submitted Brazilian Guto Inocente. Since then, “The Hippo”, as he is known, has suffered two consecutive defeats, to Sean O'Connell and Gian Villante, both by knockout.
