At the end of last year, Rafael dos Anjos e Donald Cerrone became the first fighters to be fined by the UFC for not fully complying with the organization's uniform policy. For Ultimate's partner, Lorenzo Fertitta, the athletes' attitude was not fair, as it is not difficult to follow instructions.

Since July, all fighters under contract with the UFC must only fight and appear in official event activities wearing Reebok clothing. Despite there being criticism and complaints from several fighters, Dos Anjos and Cerrone, who fought for the lightweight belt at UFC on FOX 17, were the first to receive an earful: the Brazilian for wearing a different shirt during the weigh-in, and Cerrone for wearing a patch of other shorts under his shorts during the fight.
“I don’t think it’s fair when our athletes don’t comply with the uniform policy. So far, it's been a very, very small minority that hasn't done that so far. It's like going to school, you know? Some people go to the board because they are not wearing a uniform. It’s not very difficult”, said Fertitta, in an interview with the North American newspaper “Boston Herald”.
It was not disclosed exactly how much fine was imposed on the fighters. Dos Anjos stated that it was a “significant” amount, while Cerrone proposed that the amount be donated to a charity.
