The sponsorship agreement between the UFC and Reebok has gone through several turbulences since it came into force at the beginning of the year. Complaints range from the payment given to fighters for the mandatory use of uniforms in fights, or even the dubious quality of the product. This time, a product from the sports equipment supplier became part of the partnership's list of disasters: an “Anderson Aldo” t-shirt.
Reebok has placed a t-shirt of the former UFC middleweight champion in its online store Anderson Silva. The piece features a white Brazilian flag, as well as the fighter's nickname, “Spider”, and his weight division. The problem is that the t-shirt misses his name, mixing him with that of another prominent Brazilian in the organization, José Aldo, lineal featherweight champion.
Shortly after receiving a barrage of criticism on social media, Reebok removed the product from its online store. Have you ever imagined what the “mixture” of Anderson Silva com José Aldo?
