Jon Jones vs. Vladimir Matyushenko
The second edition of UFC on Versus takes place today in San Diego, United States, an event that features as its main fight the duel between the experienced Vladimir Matyushenko against the UFC's biggest revelation Jon Jones. The show also features a duel between middleweights Mark Munõz and the Japanese Yushin Okami, who in case of victory could be the next challenger for the category title, in addition to the return of the Japanese idol and former Pride champion, Takanori Gomi who will face the American Tyson Griffin.
The only Brazilian on the card, Charles “do Bronx” de Oliveira, will make his Ultimate debut, on the preliminary card, against Darren Elkins
During the weigh-in held yesterday, all fighters reached weight without any problems, except for DaMarques Johnson who weighed one kilo over the welterweight category limit and was forced to give up 20% of his purse to his opponent Matt Riddle.
