The war between Wanderlei Silva and the UFC seems to be experiencing moments of truce. Shortly after the Brazilian apologized following recent accusations against the organization, his lawyer, Ross Goodman, stated that he is released from his contract with the company.
More than that, Wanderlei is no longer being sued by the UFC after accusing the organization of fixing the results of his fights. “It was a good day for Wanderlei. We managed to resolve the process and, more importantly, Wanderlei was released by the UFC”, confirmed Goodman, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.
Even though he was banned for life from MMA by the Nevada Athletic Commission for refusing to take a surprise drug test in 2014, Wanderlei remained in contact with the UFC. This prevented him from making publicity appearances for Bellator, something that was even announced in the past. “Now he’s free to do whatever he wants,” said Goodman.
