Throughout their professional careers, due to the intense training and fighting routine, MMA fighters end up developing all types of injuries and, therefore, undergo the most diverse possible treatments. Although this is common knowledge, the UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold decided to go further and record on video the drainage performed by a doctor on his elbow, as a treatment for Olecranon Bursitis.

The video shows the procedure in detail. Firstly, Luke displays the enormous swelling on his elbow and even jokes about the fact that the area is flaccid. Then, the doctor inserts a needle and drains the fluid in the area into a syringe. Then, the doctor displays the final result and shows that a second syringe was necessary, given the volume of liquid accumulated in the region.

At the end of the video, the athlete from American kickboxing Academy (AKA) also says that “he is now prepared to throw some elbows” at his rivals. After winning the middleweight title on December 12th, by beating Chris Weidman, Luke Rockhold now awaits its first challenger. The champion himself has his preference and asked for a rematch against Vitor belfort, the only athlete to beat him in the Octagon.
