The UFC reaches the end of 2015 in a state of grace. Partner of the main MMA organization on the planet, Lorenzo Fertitta guarantees that the season was the most profitable in its entire history, with earnings exceeding R$2,3 billion since January.

In an interview with the North American broadcaster “CNN”, Fertitta did not go into detail about the company's finances, but assured that the final balance was more than positive. “As we are a private company, we won't talk much about profits, but we will generate around US$600 million in 2015, which is a record for the company. This is significant growth compared to 2014”, said Lorenzo.

Fertitta, whose company acquired UFC shares in 2001, said that such profitability means that an unprecedented number of athletes receive millionaire payments for each fight. “The fact that our top athletes are receiving millions of dollars shows that the sport is growing and that financial compensation accompanies this. You’re starting to see that guys and girls are getting a bigger piece of this pie,” he said. “I think that happens in every sport, in every business. It's the athletes who make the difference, that's what makes people pay. They command the dollars,” he added.
