In recent days, much has been said about the possibility of Conor McGregor, current UFC featherweight champion, move up a division and compete for the lightweight belt against Rafael dos Anjos. The Brazilian was open to the idea, and other athletes in the under-70 kg category agreed to face the Irishman. However, there is one fighter who was against the change: the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The Russian, who in his last fight beat Dos Anjos, stated that McGregor should remain at featherweight to give him a chance. Frankie Edgar to compete for the title. “I think Conor needs to stay in the featherweight division. Because, if he moves to lightweight, a lot of people will say that he didn't do everything he should have done at featherweight. He still has a fight pending there, which is Frankie Edgar, and everyone agrees with me. Before [thinking about moving up to lightweight], Conor needs to stay and fight for the title with Frankie”, analyzed Nurmagomedov, in an interview with the podcast “The MMA Hour”.
