The surprising defeat to Conor McGregor seems to have been left behind, at least for now. Enjoying the end of the year holidays, José Aldo participated in a charity football match in Uberlândia, in the interior of Minas Gerais.

Even without the belt, the former UFC champion still has a lot of prestige among athletes and artists. Among them, former Brazilian national team defender Roberto Carlos. The five-time world football champion, in 2002, published the image on his Instagram praising the fighter. In turn, Aldo republished the photo and praised the former player.
“This photo means a lot to me, ultimate idol! How many times have I cheered, cheered and cried watching him play in Brazil, Europe and the Seleção, and today I was able to play alongside him and receive a ball that moved me... Thank you”, wrote the fighter on his social network account.
Aldo's return
Despite the festive atmosphere, José Aldo plans to return to competitions in the first half of 2016. The Brazilian asked for an immediate rematch against Conor McGregor, but, in principle, the UFC should not schedule a reunion between them.
At 29 years old, Aldo has a professional record of 25 wins and two losses in MMA. The former featherweight champion lost his belt and an unbeaten run of more than ten years at UFC 194 when he was knocked out in just 13 seconds.
