Former UFC lightweight champion, the veteran Frankie Edgar Throughout his career, he has always presented a respectful attitude towards his opponents, avoiding gratuitous provocations even towards his fiercest rivals. For this reason, his followers on Twitter were surprised by the messages supposedly coming from the North American, who did not mince words to challenge Conor McGregor for the featherweight belt. However, a vacillation revealed what was actually happening: the person writing the messages was his manager, Ali Abdelaziz.
Edgar's account posted messages like “I'm going to rip his soul out”, “he can't run away from me forever”, “who did he beat besides Aldo?”, “Conor just wants easy fights” and “I'm tired of being screwed by the UFC ”. When a follower asked in which round Edgar would defeat McGregor, Abdelaziz forgot to switch accounts and ended up posting on his own profile: “I'm going to make him quit in the third and finish him in the fourth.” The message was later deleted, but a follower captured what happened.
The UFC has not yet defined what McGregor's future plans will be in the UFC. According to the organization, the Irishman will either fight for the lightweight belt, or make his first defense at featherweight against Edgar.
