Werdum signs new contract worth more than R$4 million with UFC

With your revenge against Cain Velazquez for the heavyweight belt scheduled for February 2016 at UFC 196, the Brazilian Fabricio Werdum has renewed his contract with the biggest MMA organization on the planet and will earn a real hefty sum for his new contract.

According to Werdum's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, in an interview with the podcast “The MMA Hour”, the new agreement lasts eight fights and is valued at “seven figures”, that is, worth more than US$ 1 million (approximately R $4 million, at current exchange rates).

“To be honest, they didn't have to sign a new contract. We are very grateful. Werdum wants to end his career as a UFC fighter and the UFC was extremely generous and supported us a lot”, said the agent.

At 38, Fabricio Werdum has a record of 20 wins, five losses and one draw. The Brazilian, who gained fame in the MMA community by breaking the legendary's long unbeaten streak Fedor Emelianenko in Strikeforce, he won the heavyweight belt in June by beating Cain Velazquez at UFC 188.
