'It's difficult to say whether McGregor got it right or if I made a mistake', says Aldo after reviewing the fight

The day after the knockout, the Brazilian watched the quick fight, which lasted just 13 seconds, and left his impressions on the duel, which marked his first defeat as a professional in more than 10 years.

“So, there wasn’t even a fight, right? Thirteen seconds only. I saw the fight, yes. And I also remember the way I entered, how I struck. But, man, it's very difficult to say whether it's a success or a mistake. The decision is always very quick and I thought that when I tried to use the combination he managed to land a good blow. It’s part of it”, said the former champion, in an interview with the “SporTV” channel.

Despite the comments, however, Aldo admitted that it has been difficult to absorb the defeat. “It’s still very difficult to digest. We trained a lot, did everything right and the result was not positive. It takes us a while to digest, but it’s part of it. This is a sport and we have to accept it”, he stated, also rejecting any type of interference from the psychological aspect in the result. “There was nothing psychological about it, about me being nervous. No. Nothing. I was as I always was. I did everything right, the training, I spoke to everyone, I was in the best possible way”, he guaranteed.

With the setback Conor McGregor, José Aldo now he has a professional record of 25 wins and two losses. Furthermore, the man from Manaus lost the linear featherweight belt, which he had owned since the category was created at the end of 2010. Aldo has been campaigning for an immediate rematch against McGregor, but president Dana White has already said that the duel between the rivals will not repeat themselves in their next fight.
