Much has been said (and, certainly, much more will be said) about the victory of Conor McGregor about José Aldo in the main fight of UFC 194, this Saturday (12), in Las Vegas (USA). However, the event also featured another belt exchange in the co-main bout, in which Luke Rockhold overcame Chris Weidman and won the middleweight title.

After taking a disadvantage in the first round, Rockhold recovered, punishing Weidman in the ground and pound and barely managed to win in the third round. The triumph, however, was not long in coming and the athlete from American kickboxing Academy he only needed to take his rival to the ground one more time to finish the job and knock him out.

With the triumph, Rockhold became the fourth athlete from the now-defunct Strikeforce to win a UFC belt. Beyond, Fabricio Werdum, Robbie Lawler e Daniel Cormier (his training partner at AKA) also came from the late organization to win titles in Ultimate. As a bonus, Luke also took away Weidman's unbeaten record, who ended up only beating Brazilians in fights worth the belt.
