O Jungle Fight 84 closed the organization's 2015 season with a flourish. The event, held last Saturday night (05), in São Paulo, crowned Handesson Boy Doido from Paraíba as the new middleweight champion (84kg), and maintained the light heavyweight title (93kg) in Rio Grande do Sul with Dirlei Mão de Pedra. Those who were at Ginásio Sìrio could also appreciate the beauty of ex-Panicat Thaís Bianca and fitness muse Fabi Frota, wife of Alexandre Frota, who were ring girls at the show (see the gallery of ring girls below.)

In the main attraction of the night, after a good attack from Marcus Montanha, Dirlei sought the takedown and threw his opponent to the ground, where he feels at home and has won most of his victories. Montanha quickly recovered and the fight remained even in the first round. Once again seeking to develop the fight on the ground, Mão de Pedra sought the back and punished Marcus Montanha, who defended himself as best he could, but couldn't hold on for long. Dirlei locked in a well-adjusted rear naked choke and forced Marcus Montanha to give him three taps. At the end of the fight, Dirlei explained the strategy of using Jiu-Jitsu to retain the title.

“I wanted to change and loosen up more, but his wingspan caught me around the corner. I managed to put it down and ended up changing my game. For many it seems like a boring game, but that's how I achieved my 8 consecutive victories and it's been working out”, celebrated the champion.

'Boy Doido' wins and takes the vacant belt

The first title fight of the night was for the vacant welterweight title (77kg) and brought two undefeated athletes to the Jungle Arena. Specialists in Muay Thai, the two strikers fought on their feet the entire time and exchanged hard blows during the first two rounds, with a slight advantage for Handesson from Paraíba. The third round maintained the balance of the first and, by unanimous decision of the side judges, 'Boy Doido' managed to maintain his unbeaten record and achieved the eighth victory in his career and taking the dreamed belt to Paraíba.

Alex Canguru easily wins clash against Argentine

International confrontation at the Jungle Arena is synonymous with fervent fans in favor of the Brazilian. For Alex Canguru, a Corinthians athlete, it was no different. The energy of the crowd infected Canguru, who attacked the Argentine and soon managed to get the knockdown with a huge hook to Javier's chin. The Argentine continued to be punished and the knockout became a matter of time. And it came in the first round. With just over 4 minutes into the fight, Canguru worked well with ground and pound and forced the referee to stop the fight. Excellent performance from the Brazilian, who now has 7 wins and has only been defeated once in his career.
