UFC President Dana White put a damper on fans' hopes of seeing the former welterweight champion return Georges St Pierre. The director stated that the Canadian is away from the octagon for just one reason, and he doesn't see the situation changing that much now: he no longer has the desire to fight.

St. Pierre was champion of the 77 kg category for a long time, but gave up the title after his last fight, against John hendricks, in November 2013. Since then, there has been much speculation about whether or not he will return to fighting, but White does not believe that the Canadian, now 34 years old, will return to action.

"I like Georges St Pierre, the respect. He never showed anything but class when he fought for us. He was very classy, he took Canada to another level with the sport. He can talk about why he's not fighting, that he's going to do six weeks' training... But Georges St Pierre lost the desire to fight, that's the truth. He lost the desire to fight. It happens and there is nothing negative about it. It has nothing to do with me: he lost the desire to fight, period, end of story. I saw it on your face after your fight with John hendricks and I said 'he retired'”, said White, in an interview with the Canadian television program “Off The Record”.

With a record of 25 wins and two losses in professional MMA, GSP has already defeated names like B.J. Penn, Matt hugs, Carlos Condit, Jake Shields, Josh koscheck, Jon Fitch and Nick Diaz.
