“Man, I think Werdum did really well in the last fight, but, in my opinion, he didn't fight the same guy I fought, the same Velasquez I faced. Velasquez was exhausted in the first round. It was a big surprise for me. He was tired in the first round! This is unbelievable for the guy who fought me for ten rounds, so intensely. In the fifth round of the last fight he was jumping like a child. So yeah, it was really weird. If Velaquez comes to fight in a normal way, with his normal physical condition, I think he should beat Werdum”, said Cigano, during a question and answer session with the fans.

At 31, Junior Gypsy has a professional record of 17 wins and three losses. The Brazilian faces alistair overeem on December 19th, in the co-main fight of UFC on FOX 17 and believes that, if he wins, his next fight could be a title fight against his compatriot. “Maybe Werdum will be next. I don't know. If he keeps the title and I win my fight, this fight can happen”, he concluded.
