The building, which will cover 170 square meters, will house around 360 company employees. The structure's biggest difference will be the new Athletes' Performance and Health Center, a place that can be used free of charge by all fighters on the Ultimate squad.

There will be an octagon, a boxing ring, a tatami mat, a running track, a platform for weightlifting, as well as physiotherapy and rehabilitation offices for those who suffer injuries. The UFC's intention is to increase fighters' knowledge about training in order to reduce the number of injuries that currently occur.

“The location in itself is an investment in the future of the business. Firstly, we need to provide athletes with the best knowledge regarding sports science research. The gyms do a great job, the athletes do a great job, but maybe we can learn some lessons from sports science, and this structure will be the home for that knowledge,” explained Garry Cook, UFC global director.

Ultimate's partner, Lorenzo Fertitta, sees the news as another innovative step on the part of his company. “We are investing in the safety of fighters with the anti-doping program, and this is an extension of that idea. It concerns the general health of fighters, as, unfortunately, MMA training has not evolved as it has in other sports. It's a place where athletes can come and train, or recover. It is another example of investment on our part in our athletes and in the future of sport,” he declared.

Work on the new headquarters will actually begin in January 2016, with completion scheduled for March 2017.
