Less than a month before his official return to MMA, Fedor Emelianenko has not yet defined his opponent for the Rizin FF event, which will take place in Japan on December 31st. Some names have already been speculated, but official confirmation has not yet come. And there may be an explanation for the delay: the new organization would be trying to settle with the Brazilian Antonio Pezão to be the Russian's opponent.

This is what the Russian website “Sportbox” guarantees, which states that Rizin has been talking to Pezão about a rematch of the fight held in February 2011. On that occasion, the Brazilian won by technical knockout at the end of the second round, when the Russian, with his eye badly injured, was unable to return to the fight. It was the second defeat in a row for Fedor, who months earlier had lost an unbeaten run of almost ten years when he was submitted by Fabricio Werdum.
