The most important UFC event in this final stretch of the year has already defined the referees and judges for its main fights. Veteran MMA referee, present since the second edition of Ultimate, John McCarthy will be the mediator of the fight between José Aldo e Conor McGregor, main attraction of UFC 194, on December 12, in Las Vegas (USA).

If the fight that will unify the UFC featherweight belt goes to a decision, the scoring will be up to Derek Cleary, Sal D’Amato and Junichiro Kamijo. Of these, Cleary has been present at some controversial decisions in recent years. He was “vote defeated” in the fights Daniel Cormier x Alexander Gustafson e Holly holm x Rachel Pennington, pointing victory to the athletes who ended up defeated. Additionally, Cleary gave Joanna Jedrzejckyk the edge over Aldo's training partner, Claudia Gadelha, a result contested to this day by Academia Nova União.

The co-main fight of the night, between Chris Weidman e Luke Rockhold, valid for the UFC middleweight title, will have Herb Dean as the central referee. Coincidentally, Dean brokered all four of Weidman's last fights, both against Anderson Silva, defense against Lyoto Machida and his most recent fight, against Vitor belfort. If the fight is not defined in five five-minute rounds, the scoring will be the responsibility of Adelaide Byrd, Marcos Rosales and Chris Lee.
