Manager admits indecision about Fedor's opponent and asks for patience

Sakakibara says he is still analyzing the candidates and choosing may take some more time

Ever since Fedor announced that he would return to MMA at the new Japanese event Rizin FF, fight fans have been eager to find out the name of his opponent. Some fighters have already been considered, but, so far, no plans have been officially confirmed. President of the new fight show, Nobuyuki Sakakibara admitted his indecision, but asked for patience from everyone.

“So far, we have not made the final decision. There are a number of candidates at our disposal, but we want to choose the one that has the most value. Now the whole world is watching the news to finally find out the name of Fedor's opponent. Please wait a little longer”, said Sakakibara, in an interview with the Russian website “Tass”.

Fedor, 39 years old, is widely regarded as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. On his resume, the Russian has victories over names like Rodrigo Minotauro, Mirko Cro Cop, Andrei Arlovski, Mark Coleman, among others. After three years of retirement, Fedor decided to return to professional fights, agreeing with Sakakibara, who was president of the now defunct PRIDE event when the Russian was working there. His fight will take place on December 31st, in Japan.
