A different fight will make up the program for the WCMMA 23 event, on December 4th, in London, England. Welshman Phil Bousfield and Englishman Paul Robinson will have an amateur boxing duel in wheelchairs, as they both have physical disabilities.

The idea for the fight was from Colin Wood, founder of the non-profit organization Mixed Martial Arts Wheeled Warriors, or, in free translation, MMA warriors on wheels. A partnership was made with the WCMMA organization, the largest amateur fight organization in the United Kingdom.

“This will be the first wheelchair boxing match to be held in the UK. I'm doing everything myself – the rules, classification and the design of the boxing wheelchair. A fair fight marriage is fundamental, to ensure that fighters do not have an advantage over each other”, explained Wood, in an interview with the North American website “Bloody Elbow”.

Boulsfield is missing part of his right leg, just below the knee. Even though he can walk normally with a prosthetic, he will use a wheelchair for the fight, as Robinson cannot move from the waist down. The fight will have three two-minute rounds.
