Exaggerated confidence seems to be the number one prerequisite for being part of the Irish academy Straight Blast Gym (SBG Ireland). The characteristic is already a striking personality trait of the current interim UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and now he has also shown himself to be present in the striking trainer of the controversial fighter, Owen Roddy. In an interview, Roddy made a bold guess for the unification of the titles between McGregor and Aldo, and said that his pupil will humiliate the Brazilian.

“I think Conor will shock the world again. Honestly, I think he'll make it look easy. I really think Conor will embarrass Aldo. I think Aldo will come in very aggressive, Conor will make him make mistakes and then punish him for it with his devastating striking. Aldo needs to close the distance, Conor is much bigger than him, much longer. For Aldo to connect his blows, he will have to move forward. He has to come up to land his blows, and that's where he'll get caught. Conor will be very elusive, and will catch him when he is trying to get into close range”, analyzed the former fighter and current coach, in an interview with the “Fightland” website.

Roddy also read another aspect that promises to be important in the fight: the Brazilian champion's feared low kicks. According to the coach, the blow that has already destroyed many legs in the UFC and WEC will not be a problem for McGregor. “We work on responding to that low kick, but because Conor is left-handed, it will be very difficult for Aldo to land that low kick. Conor is very good at defending them. He's very good at using his knee to catch that shot. Aldo will certainly use it, it's an important part of his game. I think Conor will be very difficult to kick, and Aldo will end up kicking into empty space,” he guaranteed.

The long-awaited unification of the interim and linear featherweight belts between José Aldo e Conor McGregor takes place on December 12th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas (USA), in the main fight of UFC 194. The event will also feature a middleweight title fight between the champion Chris Weidman and the challenger Luke Rockhold.
