The film “Karate Kid” (or “Karate Kid: The Hour of Truth”, in Brazil) is one of the great classics of martial arts cinema from the 80s and rocked the youth of many people, who repeated the famous box kick to exhaustion. Daniel Larusso. One of the fans who reproduced the emblematic blow is Brazilian Lyoto Machida, who released a video on social media in which he appears recreating the scene alongside none other than the UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum.

In the revival, the karateka Lyoto is Daniel Laursso (or Daniel San, as he was called by Senho Miyagi) and Werdum plays Johnny Lawrence, main pupil of the “Cobra Kai” dojo and another finalist in the All Valley Championship. Werdum/Lawrence then throws an unfair kick at Daniel/Lyoto, whose left leg is injured. But the young karateka reacts and, based on Master Miyagi's teachings, retaliates with a flying kick that hits his rival squarely and guarantees him victory.
