Ronda receives six-month medical suspension after knockout

Former champion would only be released earlier if she presents an exam that rules out injury; winner of the night, Holm receives minimum suspension

Ronda Rousey She could be out of action for a whole semester after suffering a tough knockout at UFC 193, last weekend, which lost her the Ultimate women's bantamweight belt.

According to a list released by the UFC, the now former champion received a six-month medical suspension, which would leave her out until May of next year. However, Ronda could be released sooner if she has a CT scan of her head that rules out any type of injury. In this case, the North American would be able to fight again in 60 days. Holm, the big winner of the night, took the minimum layoff of just one week.

Also expected to be away for a long time is the UFC strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk. The Pole, who beat Valérie Létourneau in the co-main event in Australia, broke her hand during the fight and will need to be out for six months.
