With Ronda's defeat, UFC 193 breaks historic attendance record

That was close. When Ultimate announced an event in a football stadium with a capacity for more than 70 fans, the organization's attendance record would easily fall, but things didn't work out that way. It's true that the historic mark came at UFC 193, but with a much smaller advantage than previously imagined, with 56.214 fans, less than a thousand more than the former record holder.

UFC 193's mark narrowly beat UFC 129: St. Pierre x Shields, held in Canada in 2011. The Canadian event brought 55.724 to Rogers Arena in Toronto, the Octagon's first foray into a stadium, but now the card has second place on the list of historic Ultimate audiences.

In addition, UFC 193 also had revenue of 9,53 million Australian dollars, around R$26,11 million at the current price. The brand not only exceeded Ultimate's initial expectation, which was approximately R$20 million, but also set a new box office record for the Etihad Stadium.
