Ronda Rousey is widely considered to be the UFC's biggest active star. The North American, champion of the organization's women's bantamweight division, has a large legion of fans, and her image is boosted even further with her film career. So, unsurprisingly, she was chosen to appear on the cover of the UFC's official video game.

The announcement was made this Friday (13), in Australia, where Ronda is for her next fight, on Saturday, against Holly holm. This will represent a milestone in the world of games sports: it will be the first time that a woman will appear on the global cover of a game from producer EA Sports, owner of titles such as FIFA, Madden and NBA Live. The person who had come closest to the feat was football player Alex Morgan, a standout in FIFA 16 only in the United States.
“I was obsessed with video games when I was younger, so it's surreal to see myself on the cover. EA Sports is a good way to measure what is happening in the world of sports. It means a lot to me to be on the cover of EA Sports UFC 2”, declared the champion.
Ronda, however, will not be alone on the cover: another fighter will join her, and her identity will be revealed later. The game will be released in the second quarter of 2016, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360.
