Last Saturday, November 7th, Vitor belfort quickly returned to the path of victories over Dan Henderson, in the main fight of the UFC Sao Paulo. More than just the result, the fight represented a kind of redemption for the Brazilian, who obtained his first positive result since stopping the controversial testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). But one person still sees this whole situation with doubts: the official UFC commentator on the North American broadcast Joe Rogan.

For a long time, Belfort was criticized for undergoing the treatment, as many rivals considered it an unfair advantage for the Brazilian. The “Phenomenon”, already caught using anabolic steroids in anti-doping tests in the past, presented excellent physical shape with TRT, in addition to overwhelming performances inside the Octagon.

However, in his first post-TRT fight, he lost quickly to Chris Weidman, in May. Precisely for this reason, Rogan, who also uses testosterone replacement, questioned how Belfort regained his physical shape without being able to count on treatment.

“When you look at Vitor now, he definitely looks better than he did in his fight against Chris Weidman. He looked stronger, but still not strong enough compared to what he was in his TRT days. But the question is: what is he doing now? If he needed testosterone replacement, how did his body recover like that? Has he discovered something about nutrition to get around the problem or is he using an undetectable way of using [testosterone]? Nobody knows, and we won't know unless he's caught,” asked Rogan, during his internet podcast, “Joe Rogan Experience”.

Testosterone replacement therapy was banned in MMA fights last year, precisely after Belfort presented hormone levels above the stipulated limit.
