Shamrock, three years older, had his most recent fight in June this year, when he lost to Kimbo Slice at Bellator 138. The American, nicknamed “The Most Dangerous Man in the World”, faced Royce twice, losing the first, in 1993, by submission in less than a minute and drawing in the rematch, two years later. The trilogy will be open weight, that is, without having to respect any specific existing category.

Bellator 148 will also feature a duel between Kimbo Slice and Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris, with both fighters having a track record in street fights in the United States
