One of the main names in female jiu-jitsu today, the muse Mackenzie dern, current champion of the Abu Dhabi Combat Championship (ADCC) and the world championship, announced that she will move to MMA. The announcement was made by Mackenzie herself through social media.

“I'm very lucky to have these girls helping me in my transition to MMA. They are great training partners and I am very happy to call them friends,” wrote Mackenzie, who will train with RFA strawweight champion Jocelyn Lybarger and UFC bantamweight athlete Lauren Murphy, on his official profile on Facebook.
At just 22 years old, Mackenize Dern was born in Glendale (USA), but is the daughter of legendary Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter Wellington Megaton. Furthermore, the young woman is engaged to also world champion of the gentle art Augusto Tanquinho, who already competes in MMA – being part of the event's squad Legacy F.C.. As she competes in the under-58 kg division of jiu-jitsu, the tendency is for Mackenzie to fight in the women's strawweight category – with a weight limit of up to 52,1 kg.
