Ericka Almeida is brave, but loses to Irishwoman at UFC Dublin

The Brazilian withstood the pressure from the fans, but felt the duel pace in the third round and ended up defeated by unanimous decision from the judges

Brazilian Ericka Almeida was brave, but couldn't overcome Aisling Daly and the entire Irish crowd. In action on the preliminary card UFC Dublin – Fight Night 76 – an event held this Saturday afternoon (24), in Dublin, the local athlete had the support of 10 thousand fans to nullify the São Paulo fighter's ground game to achieve victory in the unanimous decision of the judges.

The fight

The fight between women started hot. With shouts of 'Ireland' coming from the stands, Aisling Daly wasted no time and immediately went after the Brazilian. The home athlete pressed Ericka against the bars and threw a few punches at her clinch. Almeida seemed scared at first, but soon managed to recover. She defended herself well and fought the fight. Even so, Daly was more effective in attack and opened up the advantage.

In the second round, the Brazilian also started at a disadvantage. The Irishwoman soon got the takedown and started working with punches from above. But with great skill on the ground, Ericka reversed the position. The fighter from São Paulo managed to pass the guard and dominate her rival's back. But she couldn't get the choke to end the duel.

With the fight undefined, Daly counted on the support of the fans to put pressure on the Brazilian again in the third round. The Irishwoman returned to the attack in the stand-up fight and Ericka tried to surprise with an attack from the back. But Aisling stopped the Brazilian and left her on her back on the ground.

From then on, Daly threw elbows at the Brazilian. Unable to free herself from the position, Ericka ended up being easy prey until the end of the fight. As soon as the bell announced the end of the fight, Aisling Daly raised her arms to celebrate the victory with her fans.

With the result, Ericka Almeida finds herself in a complicated situation within the UFC, as the Brazilian lost in her two appearances at the event. Aisling Daly recovered from her defeat to Randa markos and won for the second time in three fights in Ultimate.
