This Saturday (24), the UFC will return to the city of Dublin, capital of Ireland, to hold another of its events in the land of Conor McGregor. UFC Fight Night 76 will be held at 3Arena, and, just like the other times the organization has visited the venue, the expectation is for a full house once again.

But anyone who thinks that the attraction is only surrounded by good news is mistaken. On the contrary: in the last two weeks, UFC FN 76 suffered two hard blows that left the card with much less shine.

PUBLICITY:

First was the news that Stipe Miocic had been injured and could not face Ben Rothwell in the co-main event of the event. With 11 days to carry out the attraction, the UFC even tried to find a replacement, but was unsuccessful. Thus, the fight was canceled once and for all.

The hardest blow came on the Tuesday before UFC FN 76. The main star of the show, the Irishman Joseph Duffy He was not cleared by doctors to fight, as he had suffered a slight concussion during training exactly one week before the event.

PUBLICITY:

As a result, it was up to flyweights Paddy Holohan and Louis Smolka the responsibility of heading the attraction. Holohan, training partner of Conor McGregor, tries to grow in the division, with three wins and one loss in the UFC; Smolka has an identical record in the organization, with his only setback being against Chris Cariaso, a former title challenger.

The rest of the card is basically filled by local athletes. In the second most important fight of the night, Northern Irishman Norman Parke faces Swedish Reza Madadi; Neil Seery faces Jon Delos Reyes, also on the main card.

It can be said that UFC Fight Night 76 has “one and a half representatives” from Brazil. Former champion of Jungle Fight, Ericka Almeida tries for her first UFC victory against Irish Aisling Daly; now English Darren till, based in Santa Catarina and who speaks Portuguese fluently, is looking for his second triumph in a row, against the undefeated Nicholas Dalby.
