Recently, there was a lot of speculation about a UFC event in a football stadium in Brazil at the beginning of 2016. The information even included an attraction at the Arena da Baixada, in Curitiba, with Fabricio Werdum e Anderson Silva like big stars. However, the director of the UFC in Brazil, Giovani Decker, stated that there is no plan yet.

Decker went further and said that, despite his wishes and that of the Brazilian stars, the chance is greater that the event will not happen as has been speculated.

“There is a lot of speculation, Werdum spoke, Anderson spoke. I hope all this closes, I'll be the happiest guy in the world, but in reality nothing is closed yet. It's pure speculation. There is very strong pressure from Werdum to defend his belt in Brazil. In fact, for him, it would be at Arena do Grêmio [in Porto Alegre]. Anderson is also pushing for his return to be in Brazil. It's my personal desire to bring these fights to Brazil, but I would be raising everyone's expectations if I said that this is a done deal today, and it isn't, it's far from being the case. In reality, the chances of this happening today are 40% and the chances of it not happening are 60%. We have to be realistic”, explained Decker, in an interview with the website “Portal do Vale Tudo”.

Werdum will have his next fight against Cain Velazquez, in a rematch valid for the UFC heavyweight belt. Anderson, suspended for doping until February next year, declared that he will face Michael Bisping on your return.
